Eco Printing Educator & Textile Artist

Three words describe Nicola Brown’s textile practice: simple, natural, crafted.
She works with leaves, bark, seed pods and onion skins to create lasting eco prints on handmade felt, wool, silk, linen and upcycled fabric, using a health-conscious and environmentally mindful approach without harsh chemicals.

Based in rural Ireland, Nicola has developed a deeply sustainable way of working. She has planted over 13,500 trees on her land and established print and natural dye borders that support a diverse range of insects, birds and wildlife, reflecting the wider ecological context of her practice.

Nicola’s primary focus is on sustainable, intuitive eco printing—helping students move from confusion to confidence while creating beautiful, meaningful textiles, time after time.
