Mrunmayee is an artist, surface pattern designer, and online educator from India. She discovered surface pattern design while exploring digital art and like many beginners, quickly found herself overwhelmed by repeat types, complicated software, and a whole lot of self-doubt. Her way through? Simplifying the process. She shifted to iPad-based tools like Procreate and Adobe Fresco and started building workflows that made creating seamless patterns feel intuitive and enjoyable rather than frustrating.

Now she teaches those same workflows to beginners and aspiring pattern designers through her membership Pattern Play Lab, her Skillshare courses, and YouTube tutorials under her brand Kala by Mrunmayee. Her approach is rooted in one belief that creativity should feel calming and joyful, not frustrating and complicated.
